Commenting on receiving the bursary, Charlotte said “I am delighted to be receiving the 2019 CMAE Young Manager’s Bursary to complete the MDP Part 1 course. In many job roles, a positive attitude and dedicated work ethic can take you far, but when it comes to management you owe it to yourself and your team to be as informed as possible about the industry you are in. I am excited to meet with other people beginning their MDP journey and gain a deeper insight of the Club industry. I believe that this course will be incredibly important to my development within my current job role, and to the rest of my career. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to get started.”

ECEF’s CEO, Nigel Cartwright continued “With so many enthusiastic young managers across Europe and the Middle East applying, we wanted to expand the award with two part-bursaries of £600 to assist an attendance to MDP 1, Club Operations. These have been awarded to Maria Teresa Casali, Events Manager at The Oriental Club in London, and James Brockington, Golf Operations Manager at Henley Golf Club in Warwickshire. Congratulations to all three.”

Commenting on the award, James said “It is an honour to receive one of the ECEF Young Manager Bursaries. It will give me the chance to further my education and knowledge with regard to club management and I hope to be able to attain the Club Management Diploma in the coming years. Thank you to Marc Newey for sponsoring the bursary”.

Maria also commented “I am delighted to have won one of the bursaries for the MDP 1 and I very much look forward to gaining a comprehensive overview of the Club Industry and Club Management. This will benefit me at the Oriental Club where I can apply my acquired knowledge to my current role and continue to refine the Club Events programme.”
